 Our Indian Constitution What is constitution ? Why is so important ? Constitution :- The system of fundamental principles according to which a nation , state is governed .  The constitution of India is the supreme law of India . The Document lays down the demarcating framework and fundamental political code , procedures , powers and duties of government institutions and they set out fundamental rights and directive principles .  B.R Ambedkar , chairman of the drafting committee and it's widely considered as the cheif architect .  [IAST Bharatiya Samvidhan] is original text of the preamble . And our constitution ratified on 26 No vember 1949 .  Our constitution has three branches : Executive , legislature and judiciary and our constitution also have two chambers : Rajya sabha and Lok sabha .
